Lights from ReStore

I mostly love ReStore as a place that came and hauled away all the stuff we ripped out of the kitchen like the cabinets and doors. But I also love ReStore for my new lights.

These are the old lights. The same style one was in the hallway too.

Wait is this outside? No they just look like outdoor lights. Especially with the string tree to the right. The same light was in the hallway too.

Here is the new bedroom light that I got new for only $25 bucks.  Just need to rehang Doug West print. And it will be 1000 times better. Maybe more.

And here is the new hallway light that was also $25. But it was used. Not the best photo sorry.

Some flags to Cheer Colin on

Colin is studying for his PE (Professional Engineering License) and so I thought I would put up some flags to cheer him along. I used my mom's and grandmother's old scarves.

Master bath cabinet color

I have been thinking about painting the master bathroom cabinets green for some time now and thought I would post some other lovely green bathrooms for inspiration.

Well I bought a paint sample and brought it home. I left it on the counter in the bathroom and later that evening when Colin came home he told me, "Just yesterday, I was in the bathroom and I was wondering why you hadn't painted the cabinets yet." So I guess it really was time to redo this sad little room. Someday in the future we are planning on remodeling the bathroom and making it much larger with a claw foot tub and door out to the future deck. But that is quite a ways off. So a little paint will have to do for now. I finshed painting this morning so before and afters will be up tomorrow.

Not the kitchen- the yoga room

Now that the kitchen is somewhat finished and the other rooms in the house aren't over-run with cabinets and tools, and kitchen utensils, and plates and bowls, and flooring, and ect. ect. ect. we have been able to rearrange and make most of the rooms in the house look quite nice. Here is the yoga room where the cabinets and trim for the kitchen were being stored. It's not too easy to meditate with trim screaming at you to install it.

Too much color?

When we first moved into the house I painted the arch ways red as well as the built in shelves in the dining room that house all our curiosities from our outdoor adventures and other goodies.

But when we tore down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room it was obvious that they used to be two separate rooms with their own color schemes. I decided the red and the copper and the aqua were simply just too much. So I repainted the arch closest to the kitchen. I cant quite bring my self to repaint the shelves as they took 5 coats of paint. I think they are separate enough to leave alone. But who knows maybe I will paint them Aqua as well. Actually the color is Sea Green Glass.

And yes, we still have not got the baseboards back in place. Maybe by the end of the summer.
